How Much Is An Old Bike Worth?

The club has adopted a policy of not making valuations. There are many factors that can affect a bike’s value and it is felt that WAHCC honorary office bearers are not necessarily equipped to assess them. A survey of popular on-line websites (Gumtree, eBay, Facebook Marketplace) may be beneficial to gauge a bike’s market value.

On a brighter note, the club is happy for you to attend a club meeting as a guest and present your bike. This will allow the collective brains-trust of those present to consider its make, componentry, condition and provenance (if any) to suggest a value or even a plan for restoration.

The club is also happy to take bikes as donations, which are auctioned within the club to raise funds. In any event, we are heartened that you recognise the potential value of your bike and encourage you to persevere and save another bike from landfill or scrap metal merchant
