Vintage Track Night

  • Speed Dome Eddie Barron Drive Middle Swan, WA, 6056 Australia (map)

Now open to the general public. Get your favourite old track bike off the wall, dust it off and use it as intended!

This is a non racing event for first timers and enthusiasts just wanting to do a few laps on their track iron, socialise and take a few photos.

$30 entry includes pizza, and of course a display of some very special track bikes.

Ever wanted to ride on a world-class indoor velodrome where international stars come to train?

Want to experience the buzz of no head wind, no brakes, the lightest of bikes, the smoothest of surfaces… and for the brave, a pucker inducing lap around the top of 45 degree banking?

The W.A. Historical Cycle Club in conjunction with Track Cycling W.A. is offering a limited number of places for a closed session at 6pm on Friday the 6th of May.

WAHCC Members have first preference, though friends and family are encouraged to register interest. (WAHCC membership is only $25 a year! - join here)

You will receive all the help you need from experienced track riders who are also WAHCC club members. This is a fun night. No pressure. No need to get up the banking. Just ride within your comfort zone.

We may run two “trains” – one low, one high – though you are welcome to just do your own thing. The faster high train will be guided by an experienced TCWA rider.

Bring along your historic track bike(s) to ride, though you can hire a bike as well to tackle the banking. A Tech Sheet will be forwarded to respondents wishing to ride their historic bike.

PLUS! Don’t want to ride? Show off your historic track bikes for a display and a photo session and cheer your fellow clubbies on. Giggles guaranteed all round!
