Ride - French Car Festival

  • Parliament Place West Perth, WA Australia (map)

The route will take us from Parliament Place, West Perth to Elizabeth Quay, then along the north bank of the Swan River to UWA Car Park 9 off Hackett Dve (Near the Business School and opposite Royal Perth Yacht Club) There we are invited to enjoy French Car Festival viewing other beautiful and exotic forms of transport - with twice the wheels. Enjoy great coffee and friendship.

From there we will proceed to Kings Park via Parkway and Fairway backstreets and beneath Stirling Hwy. Kings Park is glorious now and to ride through the bush is such a pleasure. I have mapped quite a long flat ride around the western and northerly boundaries of Kings Park mostly through native bush however there are shorter roads (May Dve, Lovekin Dve, Forrest Dve) with adjacent bike paths leading back to the park’s main carpark should anyone wish to split off and take an easier ride. It is planned as an event to relax and appreciate why we are so lucky to live here - and almost covid-19 free...It is not a cycling challenge. If you prefer not to ride then drive and meet up at French Car Festival or at the Wadjuk Car Park. Everyone welcome.

The ride officially finishes at the main Wadjuk Car Park behind Frasers and Aspects Gallery in Kings Park. It is worth hanging around to enjoy the brilliant wildflowers or just to ride at your leisure around the many bike paths.

The route is designed to keep us at a safe distance from road traffic. However do take extra care crossing Malcolm Street on your return to Parliament Place - there are no crosswalks in the vicinity of he Fraser Ave Entrance to the park.
