In 1924 Fremantle bicycle maker Arthur Grady became the first person to ride a motorcycle around Australia. Setting off from Fremantle Town Hall and returning five and a half months later to a rousing reception and a place in the record books.
The City of Fremantle have expanded the event celebrating his achievement and it is now a part of the statewide heritage week. This year over 200 vintage motorcycles will be joined by fascinating displays from the: Veteran Car Club of WA, Bus Preservation Society, Vintage Commercial Vehicle Association, Vintage Pram Society, Machine Preservation Society and Hand Tool Preservation Society.
WAHCC members will be mounting a display on the west side of St. John's Church in Kings Square on Adelaide St.
Members bringing bikes on trailers please contact Rob Frith asap - we need to get trailer numbers to CoF.
